Abstract | Jobs and job satisfaction are the focus of this transcript of a radio series broadcast by the National Public Radio System entitled "Can You Get There from Here?" The second of a 4-part series on the relationship between schooling and jobs, this program centers around an interview with anthropologist Elliot Liebow, author of "Tally's Corner," and concentrates on Dr. Liebow's reactions to several sound portraits of people in what could be considered "dead end" jobs. The program also discusses unemployment and the problems of people who are not college-bound. (TA) |
