Abstract | This activity oriented environmental guide is the result of cooperative efforts of high school teachers, students, scientists, and technicians. The activities are divided into four chapters: Hydrologic Cycle; Human Activities; Ecological Perspectives; and Social and Political Factors. Each activity contains seven parts: an introduction; questions regarding the activity; equipment; procedures; results obtained by using the study; limitations and problems encountered with the activity; and an annotated bibliography. There are seven appendices at the end of the guide. The appendix includes a discussion of water quality parameters, aids to implementation, suggestions regarding limitations and inconveniences, suggestions related to evaluation, a bibliography, a water pollution and environmental glossary, and comments regarding laboratory and field safety.
