Abstract | High school teacher John Golden interviews social justice educator Linda Christensen. Golden and Christensen begin by expanding on an understanding of social justice and a teacher's role in the social justice classroom. They continue by addressing complicated issues of student empowerment, meeting state standards, and choosing appropriate texts and writing prompts for students. Christensen also shares her thoughts on how to set up an environment that supports social justice and encourages student empathy. (As Provided). |
