Abstract | In this article, the author talks about plagiarism in the digital age and how plagiarism challenges teachers in their relationship with students. With a growing body of digital commentary and the looming dominance of electronic writing, current professional consensus in the plagiarism dilemma appears dubious and the slope gets more slippery every day. Understandably, many teachers are reluctant to let go of the single-authorship structure and the accompanying clearly defined boundaries that have dictated the ethics of the academy in the past century. Here, the author asserts that the problems of plagiarism in a digital age continue to challenge the teacher/student relationship and may require more aggressive teaching strategies and student/teacher dialogue instead of more aggressive electronic detection and punishment.
