Abstract | Interviews with 18 women enrolled in postsecondary education used a framework of misogyny to reinterpret barriers to their participation Resulting themes included women's role in maintaining the home as sanctuary, women needing constraint, and men's role as suppressors. Results suggest how a theory based in misogyny can explain obstacles to women's participation in higher education. (Contains 73 references.) (SK) |
