Abstract | The first six years of a child's life are the most critical years for development, and appropriate health care, nutrition, stimulation, affection, and education are critical for healthy development. These early years also present a window of opportunity to mitigate any developmental concerns. With the right intervention, the child's health, productivity, and quality of life can improve significantly. Headquartered in New Delhi, iRockit is a startup in the early child development (ECD) space in India. It helps children achieve age-appropriate milestones across the multiple domains of development--cognition, speech, motor, emotional, and self-help. Its vision is to make ECD a routine part of pediatric health care, much in the same way as immunization is already being handled today. iRockit's mission is to enable the child's primary doctor to provide the highest level of ECD care by making it easy and convenient for the doctor to do so. The app includes developmental screening instruments, diagnostic tools, stimulation activities, guidance about when to refer and to whom, and more. (ERIC). |
