Abstract | The research sites were "Blitar, Malang" and "Batu" in East Java Province, Indonesia since those areas are regarded to have problems of environmental crises. In the data collection, this study made use of four methods, namely: a) observation, b) In-depth Interviews, c) documentation, and d) focus group discussion. The results of the study are as follows: Learning characters love of the environment through formal education and non-formal education. Formal education is monolithic and integrative. Implementing a monolithic, standing alone in the curriculum of the environment, and has been implemented in Kota Batu. While integrated, the material on the environment are on subjects such as Biology, Civics, Religion, Indonesian, which has been conducted in "Malang and Blitar". Learning character lines love non-formal environment conducted by the Department of Forestry through Forest Village Community Institution, by introducing the function of forests (As Provided). |
