AbstractThis study examined processes of learning educational strategies in high school and their post-graduation applications. Participants in the study were post-graduate students from six different graduation classes, 2003-2008 in two small rural Wisconsin school districts. The special education teachers were from the same two rural school districts. The research methods included three different surveys and National Transition Survey studies. Two basic findings were (a) students with a learning disability had difficulties identifying learning strategies they used in high school which transferred into their post-graduate setting, and (b) key learning strategies students chose had a low relationship with the selections from special education teachers.
