Abstract	A study examined factors that influenced students who were currently enrolled in a vocational training program to enroll and to continue to stay enrolled in the program. To gather data for the study, researchers administered a project-developed questionnaire to 389 of the 14,254 students enrolled in postsecondary vocational programs throughout Florida. Based on the 318 survey instruments that were returned, it appeared that the strongest influence on students' decision to enter vocational training was the need for the training offered by the school to get the job they wanted. Students' desire to qualify for a specific type of job or their personal goal to provide a better standard of living for themselves or their families were stronger motivational factors upon their initial enrollment than the reputation of the school, reputation of the program, instructor's performance in the classroom, placement record of the program, schedule flexibility, financial aid available, or any other major factor considered. Data also indicated that the students continued their enrollment in vocational training programs for the same reasons they entered.
