AbstractThis module, one in a series of performance-based teacher education learning packages, focuses on a specific skill that vocational educators need to be successful in the area of instructional execution. The purpose of the module is to prepare the teacher to guide students effectively during vocational-technical laboratory instruction. Learning experiences are provided to aid the instructor in assisting students in developing their own work plans and guiding their progress through the use of these plans. Other learning experiences give the instructor skill in developing special instructional materials for use in the laboratory: job sheets, operation sheets, and information sheets. Introductory material provides terminal and enabling objectives, prerequisites, a list of resources, and general information. The main portion of the module includes six learning experiences based on the enabling objectives. Each learning experience presents activities with information sheets, samples, case studies, self checks, and checklists. Optional activities are provided. Completion of these six learning experiences should lead to achievement of the terminal objective through the seventh and final learning experience that provides for a teacher performance assessment by a resource person. An assessment form is included. (YLB)
