Abstract | The New Hampshire Technical Institute and the six New Hampshire Vocational-Technical Colleges graduated 906 students from 45 occupational programs during the 1978-79 academic year. By October 1979, 710 graduates (78%) were employed in full-time positions; 98 (11%) were continuing their education full-time; 6 (1%) had entered military service; 27 (3%) were not seeking employment; and 48 (5%) were still seeking employment. Many positions were obtained as a result of the efforts of the lifetime placement service provided at each institution. Of the employed graduates, 95% were working in a field closely related to their major and 82% accepted jobs in New Hampshire. Average annual salaries for the graduates who were employed full-time ranged from $8,334 for business and management majors to $10,864 for engineering technology majors. The study report provides a breakdown of data by college and program area and lists the business, industrial, and health organizations whose representative interviewed graduates as well as those actually employing them. An outline of the adult education and apprentice courses offered through the Extension Division of the Institute/College System is also provided. (JP) |
