Abstract | Cross-referenced to instructional objectives defined in a previous publication, (Guidelines to Mathematics, K-6), the Wisconsin Mathematics Test can be used to measure achievement gains over a given year, or to detect student strengths and weaknesses, by correlating missed items with the objectives. It is also possible to compare results on a given objective within a district, school, or class, with those of a selected stratified sample of 1,000 Wisconsin students. For each grade level, mean discrimination indexes range between .34 and .46; reliability ranges between .79 and .94. A mathematics educator survey and independent studies have supported context validity. (The bulk of this document contains test booklets for each grade, answer keys, and directions for administration). (CP) |
