Abstract | As part of the Employment and Training Automated Information Retrieval Systems (ETAIRS), which was developed as a demonstration project for the Employment and Training Administration (ETA) of the U.S. Department of Labor, this set (CE 018 346-349) provides a book catalog of employment and training-related materials located in the libraries of the ETA Resource Clearinghouse and demonstration site regional centers in Denver, San Francisco, and New York. From searches conducted on the data files of the National Technical Information Service (NTIS), the Educational Resources Information Center (ERIC), and the Abstracts in Instructional Materials/Abstracts in Research Materials (AIM/ARM), bibliographic citations for 5,600 documents were identified as relevant, including all materials sponsored by ETA (formerly the Manpower Administration). The set is divided into two major sections: a title listing, which is organized alphabetically in three volumes (A-F in CE 018 347, F-P in CE 018 348, and P-Z in CE 018 349), and an index volume (CE 018 346), which contains separate author and subject indexes. The complete citations appear in the title listing and include an identification number, title, publication date, author, journal citation, publisher, sponsoring agency, contract number, subject terms, abstract, availability, and cost. The author index gives both document titles and identification numbers while the subject index lists only the citation numbers. (The information in this catalog is also available for computer searching and will be updated periodically by ETAIRS.) (ELG) |
