Abstract | Materials contained in this career education implementation guide (one in a series of seven) are designed for administrators, teachers, other school staff, parents, community volunteers, school boards, and community agencies and their needs for staff development. An evening family career planning seminar on career decision making designed for parents and students is described in detail in Module 1. A three-session evening seminar on mid-career changes designed for adults is described in Module 2. The following introductory course and four sub-course options (each intended for seven to ten two-and-a-half-hour sessions) are included: Introduction to Career Education (Module 3), Teacher Advisor Skills (Module 4), Teaching Group Work Skills Related to Potential Career Roles (Module 5), and Implementing Career Education Programs (Module 6). Each option has a clear-cut focus and the objectives are largely mutually exclusive. Each module description contains overview, suggestion for target groups, notes on funding and staffing, format overview, registration forms, example agendas, and example activities and content.
