| Abstract | Part of a system by which local education agency (LEA) personnel may evaluate secondary and postsecondary vocational education programs, this last of eight components focuses on assessing local budget policy for support of vocational instructional programs. The component provides a simplified procedure whereby the LEA can determine the amount of funds generated by its vocational programs or courses, the prorata share of indirect costs, and the direct costs. Topics covered are the Florida education finance program, program cost factor, formula for distributing state dollars, the community colleges program fund, determining actual program costs, calculating direct program costs, calculating indirect program costs, evaluative instruments, data collection and analysis for budget policy assessment, and discrepancies between funds generated and program costs. Analysis tables and worksheets are included, and a brief bibliography and glossary are appended. (Each of the other seven components and an overview guide, CE 011 609, are available separately.)
