Abstract | This teacher's guide to unit 2 of the 12th-grade first-semester "Comparing Political Experiences" course provides teaching instructions to meet the unit's objectives. After an introductory review of the four main course objectives and 13 specific objectives, the guide outlines instructional objectives and procedures for each of the 18 student activities described in the student materials. The four main objectives include indepth knowledge of political resources, knowledge of alternative patterns of resources in different political systems, skill development in the use of the survey method of inquiry, and knowledge and skill development in political participant role playing. The guide also contains application lessons which require students to apply their newly acquired knowledge or skills to the solution of a fresh problem or exercise. Included are reaction forms to be filled out by the teacher to evaluate the effectiveness of the unit. (Author/DE) |
