Abstract	Europe is becoming a multi-cultural continent. Since the fall of the Berlin wall, a new process of migration has emerged. The author of this paper discusses the impact of this development in Belgium. This is the fourth wave of migration that Belgium has witnessed in the 20th century. Should 'concentration' schools be able to attract pupils of non- Belgian heritage despite the global process of segregation and intolerance, and should 'white' schools be willing to accept and/or attract immigrant pupils? Comparable initiatives in the USA have confirmed that 'initial efforts toward desegregation were directed at the physical barrier of seperate schools'. Should the so-called concentration schools have the opportunities required to ensure survival of the policy of immigrant pupil distribution and what conditions are needed to improve their marketing position? This article presents the results of a research project of the University of Antwerp. The project's primary aim was to offer objective insight into the quantitative effects of the focal aim of the Non-Discrimination-Act (NDC), namely distribution of immigrant pupils throughout the entire school system.
