Abstract	The European Students' Guide ... originates as a contribution to student mobility, in what is hoped to be a successful attempt to make Europe more familiar to The idea behind the creation of this Guide was to enable students who have already decided or who are deciding where to go and study, to find all the necessary information about the characteristics of the higher education systems, their history and organisation and practical information about living in another country. The Guide gives information on the bureaucratic formalities of enrolment, the strategies for obtaining grants and scholarships, how to obtain health care, the availability of lodgings, eating habits the cost of living and many other aspects. The information provided in the text comes both from official sources, produced by Community bodies or national Ortelius agencies, and from "live" sources. A large number of European students taking part in the Erasmus progamme in Italian universities have been interviewed. This oral source has frequently made it possible to give more direct information, from one student to another. (DIPF/text taken from the original)
