| Abstract | This article is published in the context of the attempt to present the ' institutional response' by universities to the evaluation efforts and the pressure put on them by governments and society at large. It is based on the results of a comparative, empirical research project, EVALUE, which tried to elucidate how European universities 'live and implement' evaluation in its different dimensions. In this article the author analyses the education - employment relation, and, more generally, the relations between universities and their region. Here, it is mainly the professional integration of the students and research collaboration that are evaluated. In this respect, it seems that the new universities are more aware of their environment than the traditional universities. ( DIPF/orig.) |
