Abstract | Investigated the role of personality variables related to self-worth and coping in the formation of distinct personality profiles for 11th graders. Identified three distinct adolescent personality profiles for coping and self worth. Found that self-worth was related to resource-soliciting mechanisms of extroversion, agreeableness, and openness to new experiences. Positive coping was associated with compensatory mechanisms for adolescents who rated high on disagreeableness and emotional instability. (JPB) |
