Abstract | In the United Kingdom, access to higher education for students with disabilities has appeared on the national agenda only recently. The university sector has moved from being largely unaware of this population, to initiatives promoting access, to current concerns for promoting high-quality education and "inclusive learning." Factors influencing these trends, recent national initiatives, and national legislation are examined. (Author/MSE) |
