Abstract | Offers a response to Keith Flett's criticism of a previous article dealing with nineteenth century women's education. More fully develops arguments against the theories of oppression as a class issue rather than one of sex, the lack of educational opportunity for women, and the more equal approach of working class radicals to the education of women.
