Abstract | A study to determine size and characteristics of Ohioans eligible for adult basic education (ABE), program awareness/interest, and conducive attendance conditions. Telephone interviews with 1,536 persons over 16 but with less than 12 years of schooling revealed that: persons eligible/interested in ABE were demographically distinct, and 60 percent of these aware of ABE were not inclined to enroll.
