Abstract | Studies have claimed that use of multimedia technologies motivate and stimulate the learning of students as compared to using traditional teaching methods alone. Multimedia aids are therefore significant in effective teaching learning process. It is even more significant in open and distance learning where the learners are separated from their teachers by distances. The study has been done by using both qualitative and quantitative methods. Data has been collected from all the fifteen Open Universities of India. In this study, the researchers have attempted to understand the availability and delivery mechanism of different multimedia courseware in institutions imparting distance learning in India. The study will also provide interesting findings like commonly used or most preferred multimedia technology in these institutions. (As Provided). |
