Abstract | Despite the many plaudits it has won, the new student funding regime in Wales deserves close scrutiny, including in England as the Augar Review of Post-18 Education and Funding enters its final phase. This paper looks at the new system, particularly in relation to full-time students. The figures provided are generally for Welsh-domiciled students attending institutions in Wales and living outside the parental home who start higher education in 2018/19. It focuses on support during the period of study rather than the repayment phase of student loans. Numbers are generally rounded (to the nearest £100). (ERIC). |
