Abstract | The guide, intended for limited-English-speaking Korean parents in the United States and written entirely in Korean, discusses the nature and incidence of sexual assault and offers suggestions for keeping children safe from it. It includes several stories about attempted abduction and sexual assault of children and adolescents, defines sexual assault, outlines its circumstances and the characteristics of offenders and victims, looks at how assault affects victims, encourages parents to discuss the issues with their children and with authorities, and provides specific suggestions for teaching children and coping with assault. A glossary is provided. (MSE) (Adjunct ERIC Clearinghouse on Literacy Education) |
