Abstract | This theme issue of the journal "Exploring" covers the topic of "memories" and describes an exhibition at San Francisco's Exploratorium that ran from May 22, 1998 through January 1999 and that contained over 40 hands-on exhibits, demonstrations, artworks, images, sounds, smells, and tastes that demonstrated and depicted the biological, psychological, and cultural dimensions of human memory. Contents include: (1) "A Multiplicity of Memory" (Jonathan Schooler); (2) "Messing with Your Mind" (Pat Murphy and Paul Doherty); (3) "The Anatomy of Memory" (Sitara Cave and Susan Schwartzenberg); (4) "Young in Mind" (Mary K. Miller); (5) "Battling Icons" (Amy Snyder); (6) "Erased Memories" (Paul Kwan and Arnold Iger); (7) "Earliest Memories" (Susan Schwartzenberg); and (8) "Portraits for the Twenty-first Century" (Morgan O'Hara).
