| Abstract | This publication consists solely of statistical data about women in medicine. Eight tables and three figures are presented. The tables are organized as follows: (1) Women Applicants, Enrollees and Graduates--Selected Years 1949-50 through 1991-92; (2) Comparative Acceptance Data for Men and Women Applicants 1973-74 through 1990-91; (3) Acceptance Rates of Applicants by Age and Sex 1991-92 First-year Class; (4) Distribution of Women Residents, 1990; (5) Women Faculty by Departments, 1975 and 1992; (6) Women Chairs of Academic Departments--1991-92; (7) Women Physicians by Activity and Specialty; and (8) Women in Administrative Positions in Medical Schools. Three figures graphically display full-time medical school faculty by rank and gender; full-time medical school faculty by degree and gender; and ethnicity of female faculty in U.S. medical schools (1992).
