Abstract | The third of five publications of the Indian Social Institute (ISI)-Women's Development Series, this book outlines a non-formal education program for girls of India with emphasis on training for income generation. The program stresses the practical skills of home-making, motherhood, social skills, and character formation. The book describes some existing programs, outlines phases of planning, provides practical aids for program implementation, and discusses income generating activities for women and principles related to income generation. Training rural youth for self-employment is also explained. Also included are photos and two appendices with lists of related readings and background information on the ISI-Programme for Women's Development. (IRS) |
