Abstract	The guide, one of a series of documents on Project CAST (Community and School Together), a community-based career education program for secondary special education students, presents a continuum of objectives in the areas of health and science which should be taught in grades 9-12 and which represent minimal competencies for independent living. Behavioral goal statements, objectives, and specialized vocabulary are offered for the following topic areas: good hygiene, safety, first aid, nutrition, illness, medical instructions, medical facilities, emergency, conservation/environment, drugs, family planning, pregnancy and child rearing. A section on resource materials with brief summaries and information on publishers concludes the guide. (CL)
