Abstract | This document is made up of a selection of some of the papers distributed to participants in courses on "Family Health and Family Planning" which have been organized each year since 1973 by the International Children's Center and the World Health Organization Regional Office for Europe. Six courses, held between 1973 and 1978, brought together a total of 120 participants from twenty countries (for the most part around the Mediterranean) many of whom hold responsible positions at regional or national level in the health services. The following issues were covered in these courses: factors affecting family health, control of human reproduction, pregnancy and contraception in adolescence, problems of sterility, breast-feeding, sexually-transmitted diseases, sexology, health education, integration and evaluation of family planning, and finally the role and training of personnel.
