AbstractFrom October 1 through December 31, 1965, activity was concentrated on the selection of a curriculum and the development of topic objectives within each course of study. The proposed curriculum outlined for grades 9 through 14 is based on meeting the four identified domains of specific vocational, general vocational, citizenship, and self-fulfillment objectives. The specific vocational curriculum is to be prepared for each occupational area of interest to the Quincy Schools and is to specify "key" jobs at each of several levels and competencies required for qualification at each level. The general vocational curriculum areas implied are (1) commerce, industry, and occupations, (2) vocational guidance, and (3) basic technology. The citizenship curriculum phase emphasizes the family, local group membership, and local, state, and federal issues. The self-fulfillment curriculum contains elements of appreciation of American fiction, American history, and appreciation of the arts. While the broad course objectives describe levels of behavior required for effective use in life, the topic objectives are designed as unambiguous statements of student performance which identify the criteria of success and conditions under which performance is to take place. Curriculum implications, a review of practical problems encountered, and the rationale for topic objectives and procedures for deriving them are included. Other reports are available as VT 001 392-001 397, VT 004 848, and ED 013 318. (HC)
