Abstract | This course syllabus was developed for a workplace literacy project conducted cooperatively through the Minnesota Teamsters Service Bureau and Northeast Metro Technical College. It is part of the job-specific curriculum for commercial truck drivers developed during the project. This guide lists the courses necessary to complete a 24-credit diploma program in truck driver training leading to a commercial driver's license. The guide contains an outline of an introductory lecture, a description of the program, a list of required courses and electives, and course descriptions for the 18 course in the program. Each course description includes a short summary of the course content, text and references required, course goals, expected student contribution, course evaluation, and course schedule. The resource guide packaged with the curriculum guide lists manuals, booklets, videotapes, and audiotapes correlated with the curriculum guide of the commercial driver's course. It also describes the calculator mathematics and computer training courses developed during the project. (KC) |
