Abstract	Growing up in poor quality, unsafe, and/or overcrowded housing magnifies all the other challenges and disadvantages that go along with poverty. Noting that as more and more families in Wisconsin and nationwide struggle to achieve sustainable housing, the connection between housing and child well-being is becoming increasingly obvious, this WisKids report focuses on the worsening affordable housing crunch in Wisconsin. In addition to quantitative data, the report includes four articles by experts in Wisconsin housing matters on issues related to housing quality and affordability. Following an introduction, the articles are: (1) "Big Costs, Little Paychecks: Why It's So Hard To Build Housing That's Truly Affordable" (Bill Perkins); (2) "Low-Income Housing in Wisconsin's Rural Communities, or, Country Mouse-City Mouse" (Peter Kilde); (3) "What's Wrong with Section 8 and What Can Be Done To Fix It" (Brenda Konkel); and (4) "Good Bye, Old Paint" (Martha Cranley), on the problem of childhood lead poisoning.
