| Abstract | This report presents an update and analysis of refugee and/or resettlement situations in Africa, Asia, the Middle East, Europe and Canada, and Latin America. Described are activities undertaken by the following refugee organizations: (1) the Office of United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR); (2) the Intergovernmental Committee for Migration (ICM); (3) the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA); and (4) the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF). In addition, the activities and policies of the United States regarding refugees are given special attention. A directory of international, United States government, and voluntary United States agencies, along with human rights groups concludes the report. (APM) |
