Abstract | This paper is divided into two sections. The first section presents a discussion of the characteristics of the disadvantaged child and the ways in which the philosophy and approach of the Science Curriculum Improvement Study (SCIS) meets his/her needs. The second half is devoted to the descriptive reports from teachers and administrators in whose schools the SCIS materials were used. Thirteen school systems throughout the United States are discussed. (SA) |
